At the YMCA of Pawtucket, our outdoor education programs offer exciting opportunities to explore nature while building confidence and teamwork. Whether hiking scenic trails, paddling on serene waters, or navigating our high ropes course, participants learn valuable outdoor skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Adventure Race | Ages 10+ | $49 per person
Experience the thrill of all of camp in a race format. This ultimate relay race puts you on the lake, through the woods, into the trees, and on the field! Prepare to get dirty and challenge yourself. Your team of 2 to 8 will race around camp doing challenges, activities, and solving puzzles. This starts for ages 10 and up but must have an accompanying adult. While we do time you, you may travel at your own pace. This is great for a family outing, friend group, teambuilding workshop, or just a fun experience. You must register every member of your team at the same time.
Adventure Club | Ages 10-16 | $120 per person
Kids will be able to do the high ropes adventure programs and other recreational activities. Think what would you do if you had a summer camp all to yourself. Campers must wear closed-toed shoes and be able to swim
Archery Club | Ages 10-16 | $100 per person
This is four 90-minute archery classes for youth. An Archery lesson can have up to 12 participants. Instructors will cover safety, equipment, and how to shoot. This is beginner-level for those with little to no experience. Participants will also have an opportunity to use our other available target sports like giant slingshots or atlatls during their time.
Archery Lesson | Ages 10+ | $30 per person
This 2-hour lesson is an introduction to Archery. An Archery lesson can have up to 12 participants. Instructors will cover safety, equipment, and how to shoot. This is beginner-level for those with little to no experience.
High Ropes | Ages 5+
High ropes is an exciting way for participants to test their fears and challenge themselves on our Challenge course, Zip line, and Giant Swing! Our zipline is 600ft long and allows you to go down side by side with a friend! The challenge course is 6 elements up to 15 feet in the air with a slide to finish. Its continuous belay design keeps you safely attached to the whole experience. The giant swing lets you start your swing from 40 feet in the air with up to 3 people. Participants must be between 55 - 290lbs and fit in our harness. Must be wearing closed toed shoes.
Night Hike | Ages 5+ | $15 per person
Explore the wonders of the night at camp. We will teach you about how the night comes to life in nature. We will also observe how we and the world around us adapt to the darkness. This experience is fun and secretly educational! Participants must wear closed-toed shoes. Flashlights can be brought but may only be used with the instructor's permission.
Kid's Paddle Club | Ages 10-16 | $100 per person
This is four 90-minute paddling classes for youth. A lesson can have up to 18 participants. Instructors will cover safety, equipment, and how to paddle different boats. This is beginner-level for those with little to no experience. Participants will also have an opportunity to use our all our paddle sports available; canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. Lifejackets provided. Must be 10+ and able to Please note the weather and dress accordingly.
Paddleboard Lesson | Ages 10+ | $49 per person
This 2-hour lesson is an introduction to paddleboarding. A lesson can have up to 18 participants. Instructors will cover safety, equipment, and how to paddle. This is beginner-level for those with little to no experience.
Young Adult Paddle Club | Ages 21-35 | $80 per person
This 2-hour paddleboarding club is for adults 21 to 35. A session can have up to 18 participants. Instructors will cover safety, equipment, and how to paddle. Paddleboard equipment is provided. Participants can paddle the whole time or enjoy the company and hot coffee or tea in our dining hall.
Parent & Preschool Club | Ages 2-5 | $40 per person
This is a social club for parents and preschoolers ages 2 to 5. Groups will be given an activity each day for an hour. These are crafts, games, or camp activities guided by a camp program instructor. Parents must be present.
Sports Medley | Ages 5-10 | $100 per person
This club is for school-age children who enjoy sports and are just learning. They will play a different sport each week. They will learn basics like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Participants should wear sneakers and bring water bottles.
