About Construction
Dear YMCA Members,
As you may know, the YMCA signed a 30-year lease and partnership agreement with Blackstone Valley Prep to create an education hub at the YMCA that will host up to 140 high school scholars, beginning in Fall 2025.
This is far more than a lease; it is one of the first co-location partnerships between a youth development organization and a school in the country. The majority of BVP students reside in Pawtucket, and this $5 million investment ensures the YMCA will continue to serve our community for many years to come.
As with any significant change, there will be some temporary inconvenience. We apologize in advance for any disruptions, as some classes will be moved to different spaces. Additional signage, a dedicated website, and more communications will be provided to help navigate these changes.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Kristen Carlson, our Branch Executive Director, at kcarlson@ymcapawt.org.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Sincerely,
The YMCA Team

Childcare FAQs
To accommodate our childcare program, we have repurposed some rooms in our building. Our childcare program will continue to use the KidZone and Extreme Gym for activities in addition to the Ready to Be Fit room. The fitness equipment has been removed from the room and the childcare supplies from the top floors have been brought down to continue to provide a safe and fun environment for kids to grow.
