An ideal program for adults offered at the Woonsocket YMCA is Aqua-Fit. The group class emphasizes a cardiovascular workout of aerobic movements and intervals of body sculpting for increased strength. Exercises are performed in both shallow and deep water. The program is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.
A program of low-impact exercises also designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone, flexibility and endurance.
A class that involves exercises with greater resistance. However, the impact on participants’ joints, backs, knees and feet is still low. The sessions provide an excellent cardio workout while strengthening and toning muscles.

This class is for non-swimmers to very beginner swimmers who are not comfortable in the water or who need assistance moving through the water while wearing an instructional flotation device. Ages 16 & Up.
